Short answer
A useful RFQ names the tape family, application, size, quantity and destination, then states which details still need supplier confirmation. Do not ask for a final price using only the words "pipe wrapping tape" because material structure, dimensions, packing and shipment route can change the quotation.

Why each field matters
| Field | What it prevents |
|---|---|
| Product family | Mixing PE double-sided, PP mesh reinforced and project-specified PVC requests. |
| Application and pipe diameter | Giving a roll-size answer without understanding the wrapping task. |
| Width, thickness and roll length | Comparing quotations that use different measurement definitions or roll sizes. |
| Quantity and destination | Confusing sample, carton and bulk routes or discussing freight without a destination. |
| Documents and next step | Assuming a certificate, test report, sample, price or PI is automatically available. |
If some specifications are unknown
Send the application, pipe diameter, any project wording or reference sample, estimated quantity and destination. Mark every unknown field as "to be confirmed". A responsible review should identify missing details before making a technical or commercial commitment.
Choose the right first request
Use a sample request when the first goal is to inspect visible structure, winding, liner, roll edge or packing. Use a trial-carton request after the product identity and sample reference are clear. Use a project RFQ when the buyer can provide the application, specification, quantity and required documents.
